River City Racers Kids Triathlon

Race start 8am; Check in starts at 7am
We are thrilled to host the River City Racers Kids Triathlon again this year! All proceeds benefit River City Racers to put on the Conference Meet. This is a great race for kids to “try a tri” for the first time.
The swim takes place at the beautiful Big Bend Woods Pool and Tennis Club and then off to the neighborhood to bike and run! Athletes will ride on neighborhood streets partially closed to traffic with plenty of volunteers along the course and clearly marked turns.
Registration Info:
Registration is open now on a first come, first serve. This race will sell out quickly and is limited to 100 participants. A parent is required to volunteer if their child is participating.
$40/participant - includes a race t-shirt and medal.

Age up date is May 31 (similar to Summer Swim Season).
There are 5 divisions:
- Ages 7-8
- Ages 9-10
- Ages 11-12
- Ages 13-14
Is my kid ready?
If your child can do any of these distances on their own, then they should be fine to sign up and compete.
7-10 Youth Junior Division :
- 100 yard pool swim
- 1 mile bike
- .5 mile run
11-14 Youth Senior Division:
- 200 yard pool swim
- 2 mile bike
- 1 mile run
Day of Logistics:
7:00am – Transition Opens – check in gear. Bike racks will be first come, first serve. Parents will be allowed in transition before the race begins, but only athletes are allowed in during the race to keep it less congested.
7:45am – Transition Closes – you will NOT be allowed back in. Athletes line up on the pool deck with their age group. The 11-12 and 13-14-year-olds will start first followed by the 7-8 and 9-10-year-olds. Pre-race announcements - please listen to the details to have a great race.
8:00am - Swim starts begin for 11 - 14 year olds
8:30am - Swim starts begin for 7 - 10 year olds
9:30am-ish – All racers will receive a medal, with the winners announced for each division in an email later in the week.
Nutrition: Water on the run for all athletes and post-race fruit and snacks to celebrate your finish.
Course Support: Volunteers will be positioned throughout the race to provide support.
Awards: All racers will receive a medal. Since this is run by volunteers and hand timed, awards will be announced via email later in the week for the top 3 males and females in each division:
- Ages 7-8
- Ages 9-10
- Ages 11-12
- Ages 13-14
Race Shirt Guarantee: Last day to register to guarantee a race shirt is JUNE 18, 2026.
Inclement Weather & Refund Policy:
In case of inclement weather, management reserves the right to cancel/alter/modify the race/course for safety concerns. If also canceled on Sunday, June 28 there will be No Refunds of race entry fees. Each athlete must accept any such risk of their entry fee paid. There is no complementary race entry to a future race. We pledge to make every effort to produce a fair, safe, and exciting event for all. Any decision we make to go forth with the race is based on the overall event safety. We have a strict NO REFUND policy.
Photo Disclaimer: There may be a photographer on site capturing pictures of the event. Since this is a public event, we reserve the right to post photos on our social media or agency website. Photos may also be used in promotional materials
Important Rules:
Must put your bike helmet on before you mount your bike.
Must walk your bike in and out of transition.
Must wear tennis shoes for the run and bike. Must be closed toe with a back. NO CROCS.
All participants must have a parent volunteer.
Volunteers Options:
- Transition Area - helping participants during the swim to bike and bike to run transition
- Bike Course - helping with the traffic of the bike course to ensure the safety of the participants
- Run Course - helping with the traffic of the run course to ensure the safety of the participants
- Finish Line Timers - collecting times of the participants as they cross the finish line
- Food and Water Table - distribute bananas, oranges and water the participants when they finish the race
- Floater - willing to fill in wherever needed
